While this hasn’t been the kind of year we expected either, things are looking up as life seems to be moving in the right direction now. And with much of the world starting to open back up to travelers, we’ve decided it’s time to finally burst the “travel bubble” and celebrate post-quarantine life by planning a great vacation. Of course, if you’re looking to celebrate an upcoming anniversary, graduation, promotion, retirement, or for making it through all the challenges this year, planning an unforgettable travel experience is one of the best ways to commemorate any special occasion or accomplishment.
If you’re looking to get as far from home as possible, our first suggestion is to head out to the South Pacific for a cruise of Tahiti and the Society Islands. These gorgeous islands have inspired generations of artists and writers seeking to capture their magical allure. Among countless others, Herman Melville, James A. Michener, Henri Matisse – and Paul Gauguin himself – were transfixed by these islands. So will you.
History buffs and anyone who just loves epic landscapes and food should get acquainted with kilts and Celts on a fun food-centric tour of Scotland and Ireland. Both countries offer intriguing off-the-beaten-path experiences woven in with unforgettable tried-and-true must-dos, like cruising along Scotland’s most famous Loch and taking in the view from Ireland’s 700-feet-tall Cliffs of Moher.
Or, stay a bit closer to home by touring the “New South” that includes fantastic cities like Louisville, Asheville, Chattanooga, and Nashville. Through the timeless scenery and happening scenes in Kentucky, North Carolina, and Tennessee, this 8-day Southern U.S. tour takes the reins in the land of mares, mint juleps, mandolins, and moon pies. One of the great highlights of this tour is the Great Smoky Mountains Nation Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
So go ahead, pat yourself on the back for a job well done– you deserve it! Now get packing – it’s time to celebrate!
